I requested not so much reduction for the waist, long at the sides, mid-bust. She made a mockup for me to try, I adjusted and marked it, took some pics and sent it back. She made some more adjustments and then I had the occasion to have an in person fitting, due to my vacation in London. This second mockup was perfect.
The corset fits like a dream, it is super comfortable and has the neater stitching and finishing I have ever seen. I like a lot the protective panels, the back panel is simple yet stiff, comfortable, and very easy to place. The front panel is so very simple in design (why didn't I ever think of that?), but so smooth and effective. I like the fit, the shape, the fabrics, the colours, the finish... everything in this corset. It is my new favourite.
I really recommend

^ And my lame attempt at an Apollo Knot.
I took this video to show some people in a forum how I lace a corset myself. Sorry but the quality of the video is not so great. I put some music on top because the noise was abysmal ;P
There is also a gallery with many pictures here, some of those are gratuitous head shots and others in which the corset is not that clear. But there are some more pics where the corset shows nicely. There are construction and detail shots in the last page, I didn't link any of those here since they are so wide. And a couple of pics without corset on that show my natural waist.

It looks like you're just wearing it over a linen halter dress...I love that, it's so simple, yet chic.

I don't own any corsets -- yet, but I look forward to getting one like this.

Beautiful colour choice, it shows up the clean lines and cording :-)

I really like the modesty panel, I have used unattached panels before, and attached too, and this one is my favorite. I think it is so good because it is so stiff. It is boned and interlined with something that makes it really rigid, but not bulky, so it is easy to slide, it doesn't bulge and it stays in place.

I also love your avatar. Who did it, is it an old painting?

Yes, La Bacchante by Jean-Léon Gérôme.

What a wonderful video too. It is great to see the corset in action. You are very quick and efficient at lacing yourself in. And I love the dress that you have chosen to go with it, its the perfect thing.
I'm glad to hear that you like the modesty panel. With all the fuss about modesty panels with buttonholes, eyelets, hidden slits, etc, I was getting a little worried that I was missing something ;) I'm glad it worked well for you.

Yes, you are certainly not missing on anything with the modesty panel. It is honestly the most comfortable type I have tried to date, both to put it on and to wear :)
Let me know if you want the full size of any pics!

1. Corset - perfect! I can think of less than half a dozen corsetieres whose work I would say that about (and three of them are on LJ!); it really is a stunning piece and certainly inspires me to do some cording.
2. I adore seeing detailed photos, so thank you for sharing those amazing close ups of the boning and cording. Beautiful!
3. You dyed your dress black....and it actually looks black, not charcoal! What's your secret?!
4. Is that your home in the photos? Fantastic furniture! Reminds me of my childhood room at my grandparents' - all walnut, with a tallboy and a proper dressing table. I miss my dressing table. :-(
5. Your hair...it's gorgeous! I love your Romanesque hairstyle, it really suits you.
6. You! You remind me of Juiliana Margulies (sp?) from ER. Beautiful to say the least. And such a great model too.
7. The table....why were you bent over it, laughing? Very cute and amusing!!
That's it - as you were! Heheh!
:-D

2. You are welcome!
3. No secret ;) I used dylon dye in the washing machine with a bunch of other clothes. It turned out quite black, but after a couple of washes of course it faded a bit.
4. Yes it is, I love antiques :)
5. Thank you!
6. No idea who that is, but thank you nonetheless :)
7. Oh, some joke with my boyfriend who was taking the pictures ;)
